It is advisable to make an appointment to discuss you travel plans as far in advance as possible as some vaccination schedules can take several weeks to complete and we suggest booking in a minimum of six weeks before you go.

Ask the reception for a travel appointment and they will book a travel consultation with one of our practice nurses. Consultation

During this initial consultation the nurse will discuss your travel plans and if necessary commence any vaccination courses.  It is therefore very important that if possible you bring any vaccination records you possess to this consultation. If you are unsure of this, you may need to check the records from your previous doctor.

The consultations are about far more than just what vaccinations you require and will also cover other key areas that need to be considered to keep you healthy. You will also have the chance to buy key medical supplies such as antimalarial pills, mosquito nets and travel health packs from the local pharmacies nearby.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the Fit for travel website.

Travelling to Europe?  You may find this website useful: Travelling in the EU (europa.eu)

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Finally, but most importantly….

We ask you to bring your completed forms back to reception where we can then book you an appointment with the nurse to have your travel vaccinations and ENJOY YOUR TRIP!
