Repeat Prescription Requests – Important Notice

As we continue working towards becoming more paperless, from 1st April 2026, we will no longer accept paper prescription requests. All requests must be submitted online via the NHS App or through online services. This will allow us to process your prescription request more quickly, safely and efficiently.

For the few patients who do not have access to the Internet, we will continue to accept paper prescription requests.

Repeat Prescriptions

Heart of Lincoln Medical Group has joined many other Practices around the UK to become a more paperless Practice, therefore have set up an Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). This means that once you have ordered your repeat medication, we will send this directly to your nominated Pharmacy for you to collect your medication from them.

We no longer take repeat prescription orders over the phone.

You can request your medication 7 days before it is due.

You can order a repeat prescription:

  • You can order your repeat prescription directly through this site. Click here and you will be taken to SystmOnline (you will need to ensure you have registered for this).
  • via NHS App - download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet via the Google play or App store.
  • by dropping your prescription slip into the Practice when Reception is open, there is also an external post box when the Practice is closed.
  • by visiting the Practice and completing a prescription request form.

Prescription requests take 72 hours (not including weekends and bank holidays) to be processed by the Practice then approximately 48 hours to be ready at the Pharmacy. Therefore please allow 5 working days before attempting to collect your prescription from the Pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
